My Ash Wednesday Confession
Oh, God’s up there!
He’s asleep at the wheel,
but He’s up there.
We argue about who’s screwing it all up,
me or Him.
I say it’s Him.
New clock for a new time
It’s simple, he said
When you’re loving, you’re happy,
and when you’re not
you’re not
Our letting go
Potatoes and kale
Was he actually reading
the things we gave him?
Could he still read?
He shouldn’t be driving,
that was clear.
She mashed the kale
into the pot,
and steam rose,
sucked by the vent.
