To the lines
that set up the line
that everyone remembers

Cloud of unknowing
Fear and vanity run ahead
To set their traps
Eternal problem of the spiritual life:
Hedging the bet
Here where it is
God is not competing, just loving
Ink
Shadow passing over
the fate of the tree
Drifting in and out of awareness
Into the maw
Trust is the key
Trusting that reality is good,
trusting that it pays to do good,
trusting one’s neighbor.
Without trust we are lost.
May we foster relations of trust!
