No, I don’t let Him get too human
‘Fore you know it He’ll be comin’ in,
settin’ up shop,
puttin’ His feet up
and wantin’ to wash mine.

The martyrdom of Sebastian
I had a beer with a priest I know
He told me he’s building a hermitage at the edge of town. Or more precisely, a shed in a parishioner’s back yard. He needs a break from all the noise.
I said, “Wow, I didn’t know you have building skills.”
He said, “I’ve never built anything before.”
Double wow. But he’s got the concrete poured, and hopes to be in by Easter. The brothers don’t think he’ll be in before September.
A little retreat. I could do with one of those.
