We are like the cat
And he is like Pepé Le Pew
They said it couldn’t be done
It’s cold, cold
in the cosmos
but we can warm ourselves
by this synaptic fire
and hope for a bigger one
blazing
A workman’s wage
I hit the hay while wheeling wide
I swam with fishes side by side.
I woke to God and said, “How do?”
He smiled and said, “There’s fish on you.”
I won’t be stopping for gas tonight
I’ve got a full tank.
Flippy little columns of steam
The ambitious boil their eggs.
The perfect season of Wichita State
When the hoop chased the ball
and scooped it like a fish
again and again
